After having chronic pain from arthritis for more than 25 years, when I experienced debilitating back pain for several months, it was difficult to have hope in its improvement. After 8 sessions with Dr Groves, the pain was gone and I could return to all my previous exercises (body pump, water aerobics, Pilates). He is Great!

I would recommend Groves PT to others because of their training and clear instruction with research supported information on exercises as well as dismissing various myths and unsupported approaches.

Other PT places I’ve gone to were unfriendly and cold. At Groves PT, I laughed at every visit. They were friendly, down to earth and actually made PT enjoyable.

Since coming to Groves PT, I have achieved greater strength in my body. My legs feel stronger when walking. Dr Garrigues is a fun therapist to work with and the home exercises help me too! In the past, Dr Garrigues worked on my shoulder with equally successful results.

Sports medicine involves a comprehensive team of health care professionals trained in a variety of backgrounds to include physicians, exercise physiologists, athletic trainers, biomechanists, nutritionists, and physical therapists. Sports physical therapy emphasizes the prevention, identification, assessment, minimization, and correction of pain and disability associated with injuries sustained in athletic endeavors and problems that affect sport performance. The goal of treatment is to maximize participation and performance.
A physical therapist may use a variety of interventions to prevent and treat sports related injuries, which include but are not limited to: pre-participation screening, cardiovascular, resistance, endurance and neuromuscular re-education exercise programs, taping and bracing, sports specific ergonomic and training regimens, manual physical therapy and orthopaedic physical therapy. In addition to prevention and recovery, intervention to maximum performance includes a focus on improving speed, agility, explosiveness, balance and coordination.
Who Will Benefit?
Although football and basketball athletes immediately come to mind and are frequently seen, many other types of athletes also benefit tremendously. Some of these athletes that are less commonly thought of include golfers, rodeo, bikers and performing artists (music and dance), as well as bow-hunters!! In fact, whether it is gardening, ranching, or golf, we can help you get to the top of your game!
Where To Go?
At Groves PT we offer programs to people of all ages and fitness levels. From pre-participation screening, individualized one-on-one training or rehabilitation, or performing a biomechanical analysis of your golf swing, we can meet the needs of any individual or group trying to improve their fitness level or athletic performance.
